How does someone become a proofreader? Are there any ways to do this? Does anyone have a sight where I can gather information about proofreading? Thanks for answering.

These days, it’s sometimes possible to set up business on the internet, although if proofreading is your only offering it might be more difficult. Also, please keep in mind that your spelling and grammar need to be impeccable if you’re planning to proofread for others (I know you were just typing an informal question — "sight" should be "site", though).

There are often adverts for this sort of occupation but you will have to brush up on your spelling.
You become a proofreader when you want to be, as a proofreader you read an artile and check it for grammatical or typographical errors.
I got a Pass in Proofreading when I did the Computer Course
to learn how to use the machine I’m Typing this on, It was just part of the computer course , I didn;t ask for it , it was just thrust upon me,
I didn’t really was just another part of the course such as Spread Sheets and learning how to use the On Line Calculator etc
When employed by a local small town newspaper, as part of my duties I proof read. It is easy to learn if you are a good reader / speller. You could inquire there.
